The Decade Of Decisions

So...I haven't posted in over a month. SORRY!!! I have been crazy busy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.  I have thought about posting though! So come on that has to count for something. This is post is going to be short because it is just some stuff I feel like I should put out there. It just some good things to think about.

Lately I have been thinking about decisions. At church a couple of Sundays back, our Gospel Doctrines teacher centered his lesson around the idea of decisions. He began by talking about how as young adults in or around our twenties, we often here that we are in the decade of decisions. We hear that we need to be making the big life changing decisions right now. But that is not what he focus was on. He wanted to focus on the small decisions. The things that, whether we realize it or not, are preparing us for experiences that will happen to us later.

It is so crazy to think that the things we do now are going to help dictate our future! I know that sounds stupid but I am not just talking about what school we should go to, or even who we should marry. I am talking about whether to take that road trip across the country. Or taking a class about American Literature even though it has nothing to do with your major. I'm talking about deciding to join a self defense class just because. Or choosing to start eating your lunch at a different spot on campus. I'm talking about getting a job as a waitress even when you don't actually need it. Maybe even talking to the guy sitting next to you on the fifth day of class.

The point is, the things we do in our day to day lives, those are the things that can really determine who we become and whether or not we will be prepared for so many things in our lives.

What do you think? What have you done in your past that have helped to shape the person you are? And maybe what are some things that you are doing that can help determine your future?
