Why I Pray In The Shower

My showers usually consist of about five things. 

1. Shampoo/Condition my hair

2. Wash my body

3. Shave

4. Wash my face (I save this for last because it gives my pores more time to open up) 

5. Pray

The last thing on my list might seem a little unconventional, but I have found that praying in the shower is one of the best things for me. 

It's not uncommon to hear of people doing their "life thinking" in the shower. I mean I'm sure a large majority of us have figured things out while showering that we might not have. For example, what text to send to that cute guy in your study group, what job you should take, or how you're going to pay for the trip you really want to go on during Spring Break. We just tend to figure things out while we shower. It creates the perfect atmosphere. You're alone. You can spend a lot of time in there. Depending on if you listen to music or not while you shower, it is generally a quiet place where people don't bother you. This is exactly why I think it is a good place to pray. 

For me it is time that I get to spend talking to my father in heaven. It is time that I get to spend reflecting on myself and the things that maybe I need to change or that I need help with. It is time for me to pray for those that I care about. It is time for me to really get to talk to my Heavenly Father during my crazy days. 

So maybe you think it is a little weird that I pray in the shower. But give it a try sometime. Maybe you will find out that you like it too.
